Children & Families
At South Carolina MENTOR, we offer innovative programs designed to help youth with emotional, behavioral and medically complex challenges reach their potential and experience life with greater opportunities.
We have been supporting children from birth to age 18 in South Carolina since 1984 and strive to create a network of support around each young person to help them build a better foundation and brighter future, no matter they’re background or barriers.
Individualized Services and Supports
In each program, we provide individualized services, hands-on therapy, and ongoing support to help children and their families lead healthy, stable lives.
Therapeutic Foster Care: Offers children with complex challenges a chance to live in a family home with one of our dedicated foster parents, who we call Mentors.
Medically Complex Foster Care: Delivers 24-hour personalized care for infants, children and adolescents with a wide range of medical conditions.
Appropriate Response Program: Provides support services to help youth and their family members reduce risks within the home and create a positive path for their lives.
Juvenile Offender Program: Matches youth who have complex behavioral challenges and those involved with the juvenile justice system with Mentors who help steer them back toward the right path in life.
South Carolina MENTOR also supports children with developmental disabilities in specialized Group Homes—helping them learn and grow in natural settings.
